Chilean star Joaquin Niemann sunk the second hole-in-one of this year’s Australian PGA at Royal Queensland on Sunday.

The LIV golfer, who was playing in the same group as Australian star Marc Leishman, aced the par-three, 160m fourth hole, much to the delight of a host of spectators.

It came just two days after Western Australia’s Curtis Luck achieved a hole-in-one on the par-three, 17th “party hole”.

Niemann’s ace moved him up the leaderboard to 11-under after starting the day at nine-under.

He eventually finished in fifth place on 13-under – seven shots behind winner Min Woo Lee – after a closing round of 67.

“Australia’s been awesome – it’s been a lot of fun,” 25-year-od Niemann said.

He described the hole-in-one as the “perfect shot”.

“I was in between clubs. I hit in the air, a little softer. It started a little left, that way the wind could move it, and it was exactly how I visualised the shot, so it was pretty cool,” he said.

“It was looking good all the way and … it went in. I got pretty excited.”
