Adam Scott's sleep-in cause of AT&T crumble

ADAM Scott could have won the USPGA Tour's AT and T National today if he had more practice, or rather, if he had an alarm clock.

The Aussie didn't get a chance to warm up properly on Thursday because he slept in and then nearly missed his tee time.

“I only have myself to blame,” Scott told PGATOUR.com. “You can argue my three over through three holes was due to my very brief warm-up on Thursday, and that might end up being the difference between winning and not this week."

Yesterday it seemed like the blame didn't need to be pinned on anyone after Scott birdied four straight holes on the front nine and went out in 31 and a share of the lead.

But things went pear-shaped on the 14th and 15th when he could only produce back-to-back bogeys.

“I just didn’t hit good enough shots overall on the back nine,” he said. “Twelve through 16 was really scrappy golf, and I did well only to drop a couple shots. It was a little disappointing in that respect, but I got half of what I needed to do, and it’s a work in progress. The story of my year; I need to try and play well for four days.”

Tiger Woods won the tournament this morning, his third win this year.
