Zinedine Machach signs a new two-year deal with Melbourne Victory
Melbourne Victory have secured the services of their French attacking weapon for two more years.
A-League revelation Zinedine Machach has signed a new two-year deal with Melbourne Victory.
The powerful 28-year-old French midfielder – who was once on the books of Italian top-flight club Napoli – has starred for the Victory in his debut A-League season, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
Machach last month told News Corp Australia of his desire to extend his stay at the Victory, with coach Tony Popovic saying it was “just about making the deal happen”.
“We feel there’s a lot more to come from him,” Popovic said.
Machach said the Victory had “brought out some of the best” in him as a “footballer and a person”.
“The environment at Victory is one that drives me every day,” he said.
“The fans have been incredible in Melbourne. They have shown me the love and support coming from so far away, and I want to make sure I deliver for them over the next period.”
Victory director of football John Didulica said: “We’re thrilled to be able to have Zinedine locked in for another two seasons at Melbourne Victory.
“(His) approach to his time in Australia has been exemplary from the time he arrived at the club and has shown on the pitch that he is a game-winning player.
“His contribution on and off the pitch has seen him earn this extension at the club, and we’re looking forward to what he can achieve over the next couple of seasons.”
