Hilarious moment Lionel Messi humiliates Aussie supporter
A video of a Socceroos fan having instant regret after poking the bear during Australia’s loss to Argentina is spreading across the world.
A Socceroos fan appears to have pushed Lionel Messi like nobody ever has.
Video of an Aussie fan heckling the Argentine legend is spreading across the internet in the wake of Australia’s devastating second-round elimination on Sunday morning.
The fan was left with immediate regret after poking the bear and having it all blow up in his face almost immediately.
The video shows the fan yelling “Where is Messi?” before the 35-year-old took the free kick that ultimately handed Argentina a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Another fan is also heard in the video barking: “You’re s***”.
Moments later, Messi stepped up and scored his first goal in the knockout stages of a World Cup.
The fan’s apparent reaction of yelling “aaahhhh” as the goal hit the back of the net exemplified the pain of 25 million Australians.
The Socceroos gave the fan plenty to cheer about in the second half, but Messi’s explosive run after taking the kick-off will haunt the man and Aussie fans for years to come.
Despite clearly feeling the pain — as shown by Jackson Irvine’s emotional post-match interview — Socceroos fans were also left in awe of the Paris Saint-Germain goal-scorer.
Socceroos players were mocked on Sunday for “fanboying” over Messi after he knocked them out of the World Cup.
Popular social media publisher SPORTbible posted vision of Australian players Keanu Baccus, Joel King and Marco Tilio asking Messi to pose for photos after the match.
They then appeared thrilled as they looked at the images on their mobile phones.

All three players, as well as Australia’s goal scorer Craig Goodwin, posted pictures of themselves with Messi to their Instagram accounts in the wake of the Socceroos’ exit from the tournament.
“To be apart of something so special and to have learnt so much. To then meeting my idol growing up and the best player in the world. I’m so grateful and feel blessed,” Tilio wrote.
