Roy Keane claims Arsenal lack the spine to win EPL title because of a culture of ‘selfies and six packs’

ROY Keane has reignited his war with Arsenal, dubbing Arsene Wenger’s players a bunch of poseurs who are incapable of winning the EPL title.

THE king of controversy is at it again, with Roy Keane blasting Arsenal’s players as “more interested in selfies and six packs” than winning trophies.

Just hours before Arsene Wenger’s side face Premier League champions Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley, Keane declared the FA Cup winners didn’t have the spine to win the league title this season.

While the former Manchester United midfielder didn’t name names, he said there were some in Arsenal squad’s who lacked the edge required to be a champion.

“They’ve lots of good players, good characters who roll their sleeves up, not just those who are trying to get their pictures every day of the week with selfies,” Keane told the Daily Star.

“But they also have got one or two players who are more interested in selfies and six packs, guys who are trying to get their pictures taken every day of the week.

“Listen, every year we hear the same thing about Arsenal being contenders.

“But there are too many Arsenal players interested in selfies - whatever they are.

“Instead of focusing on winning Premier League titles, it’s all about how their bodies look, how their hair is, more so than winning football matches, which is the way things are going in the game.”

While his former club has spent big in the transfer market, Keane is convinced Jose Mourinho’s men remain the favourites in 2015/16.

“Their team is the one with the strongest spine – John Terry, their goalkeeper, Eden Hazard - and if they can add John Stones to their team then they will be even harder to beat,” Keane said,

“The bottom line is that if Chelsea’s players show the same hunger and desire that they did last year then they’ll win the league.

“... Compared to Chelsea, I don’t think United have enough about them - Liverpool certainly haven’t.

“What worries me about United is the fact that even though they have bought so many good players this year and last year - it’s hard to get them all to gel so quickly.”
