Matildas superstar Mary Fowler has delivered a heartfelt message to her social media followers in the days before Christmas.
The 21-year-old uploaded a series of photos to Instagram, but it was her caption that really stole the limelight.

Fowler captioned the upload “Tell your friends you love them”, which showed her alongside her Manchester City teammates as they roamed around the streets of Barcelona.
She doubled down on the heartfelt nature of her posts by uploading a photo of the team, writing “A lot of positives to take out 2024, onwards together. See you in a bit” along with a blue heart emoji.
The posts come in the wake of Fowler taking time away from the national squad to focus on her mental recovery.
Fowler was not with her teammates for matches against Brazil and Chinese Taipei, which saw Australia go 2-2.
The star striker’s decision to withdraw from the contests came as a shock to fans with Fowler explaining a jam-packed schedule was behind the decision to step away.
“I’ve decided to take this time to prioritise recovery in order to refresh both mentally and physically, so that I can continue to put my best self forward for both club and country. I really appreciate everyone’s support and understanding, and I hope to see you all soon,” she said.
During her time away from the national squad, Fowler spent time with her NRL superstar partner Nathan Cleary.
The duo, who have been together for over a year, have been making the most of the time together.
The glamour couple regularly post on Instagram when their busy schedules allow them to cross paths.
Despite their busy schedules the pair managed to sneak in a romantic getaway with the Panthers halfback posting a series of photos of their trip to Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
The photos include a bush walk, a gorgeous sunset and a stop at a lookout reportedly over Tallebudgera Creek.
Cleary used the caption “Charging the batteries” on the set of photos and videos, with Fowler commenting “Hi handsome” along with a love letter emoji.
After Cleary’s starring performance in the Panthers’ 2024 NRL Grand Final victory, he was given permission to delay shoulder surgery in order to spend time away with Fowler overseas.
They made good use of the time available.
The couple shared photos of them hiking the Swiss Alps and relaxing on beaches in Europe.
One of Fowler’s posts also showed the couple layered up together in warm coats at a seaside location.
Another delightfully dorky photo showed the pair getting creative with some paint brushes together.
Cleary was left looking mortified by his unique interpretation of Fowler as the pair painted pictures of each other.
“Aren’t you just so happy that you found an artistic boyfriend?” Cleary responded adding paint palette emoji.
The gallery was captioned with a smiley face emoji.
She also responded to Cleary, writing: “Mems (memories) for a lifetime”.
