Macarthur FC player tests positive to Covid-19 as virus spreads through A-League
The A-League continues to be affected by Covid-19, with a Macarthur FC player returning a positive test.
Covid-19 cases continue to spread throughout the A-League, with a Macarthur FC player the latest to be hit with the virus.
The player, who is double-vaccinated, is in isolation after testing positive to a PCR test on Thursday.
Confirmation of the positive result comes a day after Perth Glory announced that one of their players had Covid-19.
That led to the Glory’s two remaining games of the year being postponed until early 2022.

Macarthur’s clash with the Newcastle Jets on Sunday at Campbelltown Stadium is still on at this stage, despite two Jets players having tested positive to Covid-19 earlier this week.
“The safety of our players, officials and spectators is our primary concern and we are working closely with A-Leagues and NSW Health to enact league protocol and to limit any potential spread of the virus,” Macarthur said via a club statement.
“No other member of the club’s playing, coaching, medical and operational staff have presented symptoms, but all have undergone PCR testing and are self-isolating until they present a negative result.”
