AN Italian forward tore Liverpool’s defenders to shreds in the Champions League and now the Reds are keen on bringing him to Anfield.

Staying in the England’s north west and a bumper new $691,000-a-week deal wasn’t enough to tie down David De Gea – and that’s attracted a lot of attention from some of Europe’s best.

The in-form Italian already has six Serie A goals this season after a lightning start.

And Rai Sport claim the Reds are plotting an approach as Jurgen Klopp looks to add more firepower.

Insigne scored the last-gasp winner which sent Liverpool home empty-handed from their Champions League trip to Napoli.

The pacey front man was a constant problem for the Reds defence and deservedly found the net.

He left Trent Alexander-Arnold for dead before firing wide early in the first-half and nutmegged Naby Keita to create another chance soon later.

Insigne has racked up 360 appearances in Naples - scoring 116 times - and is currently enjoying his most prolific campaign.

Manchester United star David De Gea is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain... with the Spaniard yet to sign a new contract at Old Trafford.

But today’s article in the Spanish publication believes Premier League City are now ahead of the La Liga powerhouses.

It says the Catalans have already had one offer rejected by Ajax, as have Spurs for $81m.
