Live coverage of Central Coast Mariners v Western Sydney Wanderers in A-League

THE Wanderers have beaten 10-man Central Coast 2-1 after a late Brendon Santalab goal to spoil Luis Garcia’s debut off the bench for the Mariners.

BRENDON Santalab has played the role of party pooper after scoring a late winner to give Western Sydney Wanderers a 2-1 win over Central Coast and spoil Luis Garcia’s debut.

Garcia came off the bench midway through the second half and played an influential role in Fab Ferreira’s equaliser after Mark Bridge had given the Wanders an early lead by scoring in his 100th match following a horror error from Mariners defender Storm Roux.

But Santalab popped up in the 88th minute to steer the ball into an open goal to deflate the crowd at Central Coast stadium.

The result took the Wanderers to the top of the table, while the Mariners remain last.
