AN enthralling Saturday of football saw 13 goals in three epic A-League matches.

Luis Garcia got the better of Wellington Phoenix, Jamie Maclaren returned from Olyroos duty in emphatic style to crush Sydney, and Andy Keogh and Diego Castro linked up prolifically as Perth beat Victory.

Here it is how it all happened!

WELLINGTON PHOENIX 1-3 CENTRAL COAST MARINERS

MATCH REPORT: GARCIA MAGIC HELPS MARINERS DOWN PHOENIX

In the first match, Luis Garcia scored his first A-League goal and then assisted Storm Roux and Mitch Austin to give the Central Coast Mariners a 3-1 win over Wellington Phoenix in Christchurch - their first away victory in 22 matches.

Garcia opened the scoring on the 50th minute with a cheeky back heel into Glen Moss’ net before he set up Roux three minutes later to give the Mariners a 2-0 lead.

Mitch Austin slotted the Mariners’ third goal from a dubious offside position after Garcia played him a through ball in the 85th minute.

Phoenix stole one goal back through Blake Powell in the 92nd minute, but the Mariners ran out victors with a 3-1 win.

Jamie Maclaren notched a brace on his return from Olyroos duty to give Brisbane Roar a convincing 3-1 victory over Sydney FC.

Maclaren gave Brisbane Roar an early lead after Thomas Broich assisted him for his 8th minute strike.

Sydney FC took until the 55th minute to equalise after Alex Gersbach’s free-kick from the edge of the box was deflected by Corona into his own net.

Roar regained the lead when captain Matt McKay headed home Dimitri Petratos’ cross to the back-post in the 67th minute, but Maclaren wasn’t finished.

Super-sub Henrique broke away in the 76th minute and with one defender in his path, he laid the ball over to Maclaren who hit it home for a 3-1 victory.

PERTH GLORY 3-2 MELBOURNE VICTORY

MATCH REPORT: CASTRO AND KEOGH FIRE PERTH TO WIN OVER VICTORY

Keogh scored his first goal on return to the A-League on the 27th minute after Ante Covic’s clearance was misjudged by Victory’s Thomas Geng, which allowed the Glory striker to first-time chip the ball over Danny Vukovic’s head and into the goal.

Only three minutes later, Keogh turned provider when he followed up a parried shot and sent a cross from the by-line of Victory’s box to an open Castro at the back-post - who made no mistake of slotting the ball into the net.

Victory marquee man Besart Berisha got his side back into the game before just before half-time after Kosta Barbourses and Fahid Ben Khalfallah linked up to provide the assist.

But Ben Khalfallah’s night was soon over when he controversially received a red card for kicking out at Shane Lowry.

Luckily for Victory, Berisha wasn’t close to being finished, heading home Barbarouses’ corner in the 69th minute to tie the game up.

Andy Keogh had the last laugh after he won a penalty in the 82nd minute which Castro cooly converted.
