Victory's Rojas attracting international attention

WATCH THE VIDEO: WITH his incredible skill and ability to fire a rocket, Melbourne Victory winger Marco Rojas just might be the the best young player the A-League has seen.

The 21-year-old is the form player in the competition and is coming off a stunning performance in a 3-2 win over the Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park on Friday night, where he scored two contenders for goal of the year. See the video above.

The Victory are desperately trying to hold onto him, but Europe beckons for the youngster.

Unfortunately for Socceroos coach Holger Osieck, Rojas is a Kiwi, but the question remains: have we seen a young player of this calibre in the A-League before?

Tommy Oar lit up the competition with Brisbane Roar, earning himself a contract with FC Utrecht in Holland.

His former Roar teammate Mitch Nichols already has over 100 caps at just 23.

There's Central Coast goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, a two-time Young Player of the Year.

And what about Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite, who both ripped it up at Adelaide United before heading abroad? Former Sydney FC winger David Carney? Ex-Roar and Victory man Robbie Kruse?
