Is Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci's dive the worst ever?

VIDEO: Of all the disgraceful dives in the history of football, Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci's is right up there with the worst.

JUVENTUS' Leonardo Bonucci should hang his head in shame. Of all the disgraceful dives in the history of football, his is right up there with the worst of them.

One on one with Palermo keeper Samir Ujkani, Bonucci decides that rather than try and round him to score the better option would be to pretend he has been shot in the chest.

Bonucci's arms fly in the air, his body arches back, before he twists and collapses on top of Ukjani.

You'd think he's lucky to be alive.

Fortunately, the ref isn't fooled by the dramatics and brandishes a yellow card, which is enough to earn Bonucci a one-game suspension.

The Italian international took to Twitter following the 1-0 win, admitting the dive was ridiculous, and he was hit with a 2,000 euro (AU$2,470) fine after admitting his guilt.

"I had to shoot but I got stuck for ideas. I picked up a caution and set a bad example, I serve a lesson," he wrote.

The thing is Bonucci had done so well to stay on-side and, had he only stayed on his feet, he was a huge chance to score.

We've seen some shocking dives over the years - including Brazil's Rivaldo grabbing at his face and falling to the ground as if in severe pain after being struck gently by the ball in the knee - but this has to rank among the worst of them.

Is this the worst dive you've ever seen? If not, than what is? Leave your comments below.
