IT’S not often Americans get this excited about football.

But FC Tucson striker Odaine Sinclair’s ridiculous bicycle kick has got tongues wagging.

“That is by far the best goal I’ve ever seen live in my life,” said FC Tucson coach Rick Schantz. “Not only was it a bicycle kick, he was 20 yards out and moving away from the goal. The players said that his foot was above the crossbar when he struck the ball.”

In the closing minutes of the first half, Sinclair — a 1.9m-tall, 95kg Jamaican forward — broke away from his man and positioned himself perfectly to leap high and athletically power the ball home.

“I’m stunned. I’m stunned as everybody is,” Sinclair told the Tucson Sentinel about the goal.

“It popped up and I saw it. I just went for it.

“I didn’t know it went in until the crowd started cheering. Then I saw my teammates running. I’m pretty stoked right now.”

Sinclair’s stunning goal lifted FC Tucson — a semi-professional team based out of Arizona — to a 2-0 win against the BYU Cougars.

Sinclair also scored his team’s second goal, but nobody was talking about that.
