Premier League: Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart signs new deal through 2019

GOALKEEPER Joe Hart has become the latest Manchester City star to commit to the club, agreeing to a new contract through 2019.

GOALKEEPER Joe Hart has become the latest core member of Manchester City’s squad to commit his future to the Premier League champions, agreeing to a new contract through 2019.

The 27-year-old Hart has won two league titles and two domestic cups since making his City debut in 2006, playing a key role in the team’s transformation under Abu Dhabi ownership.

Despite occasionally being dropped by City manager Manuel Pellegrini, Hart has successfully regained his place in the team and earned the new deal until the end of the 2018-19 season.

“The club’s growing and I’ve been really lucky to be part of the ride,” Hart said on City’s website.

“I just want to keep winning with the team and keep developing. A lot of the boys have signed long-term deals, so we’re building as a squad and I think that quite a few of us have been here for a long time now.”

He follows Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov, Samir Nasri and David Silva in signing long-term contract extensions recently at City, which is second in the league.

Hart is also England’s first-choice goalkeeper, appearing at the 2012 European Championship and 2014 World Cup.
