CHRISTIAN Eriksen scored a last-minute winner as Tottenham Hotspur snatched a 2-1 victory over 10-man Hull City on Sunday in the English Premier League.

Former Spurs midfielder Jake Livermore gave Hull an early lead at the KC Stadium, but the hosts lost their way after Gaston Ramirez was sent off in the 50th minute for lashing out at Jan Vertonghen.

Harry Kane equalised just after the hour before Eriksen drove home the winning goal to give Spurs only a third win in 10 league games and lift Mauricio Pochettino’s side into the top half of the table.

Steve Bruce’s Hull, beaten finalists in last season’s FA Cup, have gone five matches without a win and lie 16th - just a point above the relegation zone.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor was drafted into the Hull team and his concentration was tested early by Roberto Soldado’s low shot. But Hull who took the lead, in the eighth minute, when Livermore seized on a headed clearance by Federico Fazio before drilling in a low shot from outside the area.

Briefly, Hull threatened to swamp Spurs and visiting goalkeeper Hugo Lloris found himself in the thick of the action.

After flapping at a free-kick, the Frenchman saved smartly low to his left from Robbie Brady and then Ramirez, with Hatem Ben Arfa curling the rebound over the bar on the second occasion.

In response, the best Spurs could muster before halftime was an Erik Lamela shot that McGregor blocked comfortably.

Hull looked in control, but they handed their opponents a lifeline five minutes into the second half.

Ramirez angrily kicked out at Vertonghen after he had been sent tumbling by a challenge from another player and was given a straight red card.

It took Spurs 11 minutes to make their numerical advantage count, with Kane sweeping home his 11th goal of the campaign after Eriksen’s 25-yard free-kick bounced back off the post.

Kane’s goal, his second in the league this season, was to prove the cue for an onslaught.

It appeared that Hull had held out but, in the 90th minute, Eriksen gathered a pass from Lennon and arrowed a 20-yard shot past McGregor’s outstretched hand.
