Wenger clashed with his long-time rival after encroaching on the home technical area to complain about Gary Cahill’s challenge on Alexis Sanchez early in a 2-0 Premier League defeat.

The Arsenal manager pushed Mourinho, later claiming the Chelsea boss had prevented him getting “from A to B”.

Both men were warned at the time by referee Martin Atkinson and, under Football Association rules, that meant any further action was always unlikely.

Asked about the exchange after the game Wenger said: “I don’t regret it. What is there to regret? I wanted to go from A to B and somebody confronted me before B without any sign of welcome.

“B was Sanchez, to see how badly he was injured. Honestly, I don’t listen to what he says. You could see if I really try to push. Come on.”

Mourinho said at the time that no further action was necessary.

“It becomes heated because it’s a big game, big clubs, big rivals, an important match for both teams. These conditions make a game of emotions,” he said.

“After that, there are two technical areas. One for me, one for him. He was coming into my technical area and not for the right reasons. He was coming to push the referee for a red card and I didn’t like that.

“But to be fair, I do so many wrong things in football, sometimes you lose emotions but not this time. This time I was just in my technical area and it was not my problem. Story over.”

The FA, meanwhile, will contact both clubs about an incident outside the ground that delayed kick-off by 15 minutes.

Two flares were lit in an area outside the away end at Stamford Bridge, and one man was later arrested.
