Chelsea drawn to face Manchester City in FA Cup fifth round as Liverpool get Arsenal tie

CHELSEA face Manchester City in an FA Cup heavyweight battle after Oscar secured the Blues' progress from round four.

CHELSEA face Manchester City in an FA Cup heavyweight battle after Oscar secured the Blues' progress from round four.

The Brazil midfielder scored in the 27th minute at Stamford Bridge with a curling 20-metre free kick that ended in the top corner.

The reward is a visit to Fortress Etihad Stadium next month for a tantalising tie. But it's not the only heavyweight clash. Liverpool travel to London to face EPL leaders Arsenal.

Chelsea's trip on the weekend of February 15 and 16 will follow hot on the heels of their away game at City, but the London club's manager Jose Mourinho took the draw in his stride.

"No problem. If you want to be the best, you have to play against the best,'' he said.

"So it's good for us -- good experience, good game, big game, good.''

Chelsea and City are considered the biggest challengers to current league leaders Arsenal, but Mourinho suggested that Manuel Pellegrini's side would approach the tie as favourites.

"One team is an ended product, the other team is a team that needs to improve and has a long way to go,'' he said.

Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-0 when the sides last met in November and the teams are due to face off again at Anfield in the league a week before their encounter in the cup at the Emirates Stadium.

There were two other all-Premier League ties in the draw, with Capital One Cup finalists Sunderland drawn to face Southampton and Everton manager Roberto Martinez handed a tie against his former club Swansea City.

Holders Wigan Athletic, meanwhile, will visit Cardiff City after eliminating Crystal Palace.

Mourinho, who celebrated his 51st birthday on Sunday, wanted bhis team to win by more than one goal but was happy not to be forced to a replay.

"I think 1-0 is short for the way we played and for the way we controlled the game. But the important thing today was to win and not play a replay, because we don't need an extra match and I think that was a good thing," Mourinho said.

Hovering four points above the relegation zone, Stoke has scored just 22 league goals this season but manager Mark Hughes is confident he will soon add Cardiff striker Peter Odemwingie to his attacking options.

"It should go through tomorrow ... we're pleased to get Peter in," Hughes said.

"He's a good Premiership player with experience at this level, a goal in him and a bit of pace, which we need to add to the squad."
