2019 Asian Cup: First Socceroos arrive in the UAE as opening game against Jordan draws closer

An initial batch of 13 Socceroos have got a jump on the rest of the squad by arriving in the United Arab Emirates 12 days before their opening Asian Cup game against Jordan.

The Socceroos have begun their training camp in the United Arab Emirates as they prepare to defend their Asian Cup crown next month.

Thirteen players turned up to the first session on Wednesday (EDT), with more due to arrive over the next two days.

Graham Arnold’s team are heading into the tournament at No.41 in FIFA’s world standings, down three places from the corresponding period last year.

They will play the 109th ranked Jordan in their opening Asian Cup Group B match at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium on January 6.
