JIMMY Jeggo has finally snared his dream move to Austria’s Sturm Graz after the club showed interest in the Adelaide United midfielder in the middle of last year.

The A-League’s reigning young player of the year is expected to fetch about $400 000 in transfer fees for the Reds after Sturm Graz agreed to terms earlier this week.

Jeggo, 23, played 43 matches and scored two goals for the Reds since making his debut in the 2013 season.

He flew out of Adelaide on Wednesday to join his new club in a mid-season training camp in Turkey.

Only a medical stands in the way of completing the deal.

“I really want to thank everyone at the club, from my teammates and coaches to everyone behind the scenes, for a great past 18-months, he said.

“I loved my time in Adelaide and the opportunity that I now have wouldn’t have been possible without the opportunity that United gave me.

“The Reds gave me regular, first team football and have helped take my game to the next level. For that I’ll always be grateful.”

But the timing of signing former Melbourne City midfielder Stefan Mauk, 20, is now perfect for boss Guillermo Amor with the Barcelona legend landing a young player with a very good eye for goal.

Adelaide born Mauk has scored four times in 12 matches this season as Adelaide’s transfer activity for this current FIFA transfer window is not yet over.

With Socceroo James Troisi now a remote possibility with the Adelaide-born attacker flying out of Adelaide on Sunday to meet officials from Chinese Super League club Liaoning Whowin, Serginho van Dijk is edging closer to earning an AFC Champions League contract.

Troisi is on the verge of joining former Perth Glory defender Michael Thwaite at the club but Adelaide is ready to pounce in case the deal falls through after Wellington Phoenix made a huge offer for the Adelaide-born forward.
