FRIDAY night will be a different game to last season’s grand final. There have been many changes to both squad but we’re still the same clubs.

Western Sydney is a strong team and is very difficult to beat at any time of the season.

When we played them in Parramatta last season we drew two games.

Wow, they were very big battles – they are a very difficult opponent.

We played them at Coopers Stadium first and we had another draw.

Yes, we beat them in the grand final last season, but Western Sydney has a new team and many new players.

This is a new-look Wanderers but I am sure they have made some quality signings.

Jumpei Kusukami looks a quality signing for the Wanderers.

This Nico (Martinez) they signed from Boca Juniors, the Japanese player Jumpei (Kusukami) and Spaniard Dimas who was there last year, they are all top-class. But, for us, this is our first home game of the season and we’re playing in front of our own supporters.

We need to be very strong at home. We have 14 games in the A-League in Adelaide this year and today’s game and how we will tackle it depends on our attitude. Our focus must be just for this game.

The structure of this Adelaide United squad is looking very good.

This squad, I see them at training and when we travel and go to hotels to rest – I really like a lot of things about this group. I like what they do on the pitch and off the pitch. In the dressing room they have very good personalities.

And with calm and intensity we can achieve things.

They have all five senses (hearing, sight, touch, smell, and taste) and they are very switched on, it’s fantastic. And Sergi Guardiola, who we signed on loan from Granada, is also fitting in well.

We talk about a lot of things in our mother tongue.

It helps for him to be feel comfortable with us because there is a lot happening for him with regards to the new country and, of course, a new language and football club.

He understands what he wants and what we want, his mentality is excellent.

It’s another positive for us.
