LIVERPOOL legend Luis Garcia has made it a morning to remember for some of the club’s most devout fans, watching their FA Cup clash against Exeter with them at a bar in Sydney.

Garcia touched down at Sydney Airport at 6am on Thursday morning ahead of his marquee stint with the Central Coast Mariners,

But a little over an hour later the Spaniard joined the Liverpool Supporters Club of NSW at Cheers Bar in Sydney to watch the match with them.

“One of the guys in the supporters club was organising it ... roughly 20-30 people there I’d say,” Steve Spillios, a member of the supporters club, said.

“He was having a chat with a few of the leaders of the group. He watched a bit of the game and then headed off, I’d say it was about 30 minutes or so he stayed.

“He took a whole bunch of photos but didn’t really give a speech or anything, just thanked us all and was on his way. Very humble guy.”

The European Cup winner Luis Garcia then headed straight to the Central Coast to link up with the Mariners ahead of his expected A-League debut against Western Sydney this weekend.

The 37-year-old has not played competitive football in more than a year and will have only one training session in Gosford before they host the Wanderers at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday night.

“I don’t get crazy, don’t try to think that I’m 25 anymore. I’m not. But I feel very good, and I’m confident that I can give things to the team,” Garcia said on Thursday after arriving at Sydney airport to cheers from Mariners fans.
