A-League 2020: Brisbane Roar coach Robbie Fowler calls time on Australia because of coronavirus
Still basking in the afterglow of his former club securing its first EPL title, Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has crashed back to earth with Brisbane Roar and their English coach deciding to part company.
Brisbane Roar will no longer chase the services of an overseas coach after parting ways with Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.
Less than a year into his two-year Roar contract, Fowler has cut ties with the Roar.
The former England international returned home to the UK in March following the suspension of the A-League season due to COVID-19.

The Roar resumed training earlier this month ahead of the competition’s July 16 restart under assistant coach Darren Davies, while Fowler and the club’s technical director Tony Grant remained in England.
Roar vice-chairman Chris Fong confirmed Fowler’s Brisbane stint was over.
“It’s disappointing but it’s related to the global pandemic,” Fong said.
“For health and family reasons, Robbie won’t be coming back.”
Grant’s Roar stint is also over.
Fong said Davies and the club’s academy general manager Warren Moon would conduct training ahead of the season’s resumption.
Fong said the club would hire an Australian coach, or an Australian-based coach, as its next permanent mentor.
“That was always the plan for when Robbie’s stint came to an end,” he said.
