The Ashes 2015: Streaker pitches a tent during Australia’s tour match with Kent in Canterbury
PITCH invasions don’t get any weirder than what the Australians confronted in Canterbury — a streaking spectator actually pitched a tent in the outfield.
PITCH invasions don’t get any weirder than what the Australians confronted in Canterbury overnight, when a streaking spectator actually pitched a tent in the outfield.
That’s not a euphemism but an exact description of how self-acclaimed prankster ‘Mr Lee Marshall’ disrupted play — as he ran onto the county ground, set up a one-man tent, escaped into it fully clothed before finally emerging stripped down to just underwear and a crash helmet.
The man was evicted from the ground, but later claimed on social media that he had escaped without a fine and was simply told by security staff that “you can’t camp there.”

Bemused batsmen Michael Clarke and Steve Smith were forced to watch on as the tour match against Kent was delayed for several minutes.
Kent’s ground in Canterbury already boasts the unique nuance of having a lime tree situated inside its boundary fence.
But the addition of a tent to the outfield landscape might have been too much for the Australians to adjust to — as it seemed to be for security.
Just one female attendant confronted the man, who goes by the name #Discoboy on twitter, and upon her arrival on the scene he simply retreated to the protection of his camp site.
Eventually reinforcements arrived, but there was none of the rough treatment handed out to streakers back home.

Marshall or #Discoboy describes himself as an “Entertainer, prankster and DJ” on his twitter profile, and has an email set up for people who want to book him for events.
The man has form as a public tent pitcher, boasting about pulling the bizarre stunt in shopping centres.
