Stump mic catches Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne in the act again
The commentators were left in hysterics when the SCG stump mics caught Marnus Labuschagne’s high-pitched yelp.
Whether he’s at the crease or in the field, Marnus Labuschagne is one of cricket’s most vocal characters.
During the second Ashes Test in Adelaide, stump mics captured the moment he congratulated himself after successfully ducking a short delivery from England all-rounder Ben Stokes.
And on a rain-affected day of action on Wednesday, the SCG’s stump mics once again caught the Australian No. 3 out.

In the 26th over Australia’s first innings, Labuschagne evaded a short delivery from England speedster Mark Wood, who was regularly clocked at over 150km/h on day one.
The Queenslander let out a high-pitched yelp of approval as the Kookaburra whizzed past his head, much to the amusement of commentators and cricket fans watching from home.
“I think Marnus liked that too,” former Australia all-rounder Brendon Julian said on Fox Cricket.

Later in the 35th over, Labuschagne defended a length delivery from England veteran James Anderson and barked, “Ohh, a bit of bounce.”
The Fox Cricket commentators found it very amusing.
“Did you hear Marnus there?” Australian great Shane Warne giggled.
“I couldn’t help myself if I was in the slips.”

Labuschagne’s innings came to an end in the 41st over, with the 27-year-old falling in almost identical fashion to his dismissal at the MCG last week.
Wood got the ball to nip away from the right-hander just short of a good length, and the edge was taken by gloveman Jos Buttler behind the stumps.
Labuschagne returned to the sheds for 28, leaving the Aussies in a spot of bother at 3/117.
