Shane Warne posted on Instagram he wanted to spend his time in Thailand getting shredded as part of a holiday weight cut.

The cricket legend was planning to get back to his peak physical condition just days before his tragic death in Koh Samui.

Warne died suddenly at the age of 52 after a suspected heart attack and was found unresponsive in his villa in Thailand.

Police have revealed a group of mates Warne was holidaying with in Thailand attempted to perform CPR before an ambulance arrived. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Thai International Hospital.

The Australian hero was putting together what he dubbed “operation shred” and was planning to return to top shape by July.

Warne has been in a constant, public battle with his weight and made headlines when he dropped 14kg and kept the weight off in 2020.

He had prior to that tipped the scales at 98kg.

He said at the time his ideal weight was 80kg

The Spin King also lost 10kg when dating Hollywood star Liz Hurley where the glamorous Brit was responsible for helping him reach 82kg.

He posted on Instagram Tuesday that he wanted to return to his peak physical condition and shared an old photo of him training with his shirt off.

Warne posted just four days before his death: “Operation shred has started (10 days in) & the goal by July is to get back to this shape from a few years ago ! Let’s go.”

He had previously denied rumours he had received plastic surgery or was using drastic weight loss drugs.

His previous success in dropping weight was simple.

Warne said his only secret is using traditional Chinese medicines, having previously said after other weight loss programs that he had enjoyed success with meal replacement shakes.

“I’ve been doing traditional Chinese medicine, I’ve been doing training and things like that,” Warne said.

“I’ve dropped 14kg, I’m trying to lose another three or four more to get down to 80kg but I haven’t had any work done to my head. I haven’t had, whatever they call it, fillers, injections and all that sort of stuff.”

Warne’s death came just hours after the passing of fellow Aussie cricket legend Rod Marsh, which the Spin King had acknowledged in his final tweet.

“Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls,” Warne wrote.

“Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate.”
