Mitchell Starc’s cheeky dig at Aussie teammate after stunning IPL performance
Mitchell Starc is on fire in the Indian Premier League – and he has let a fellow Aussie know all out about it after claiming his scalp.
Mitchell Starc has fired the Delhi Capitals to an emphatic IPL victory with a five-wicket haul before having a cheeky dig at fellow Aussie Travis Head.
Starc claimed his first five-for in the Indian Premier League as he spearheaded Delhi’s seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
After removing Ishan Kishan (2) and Nitish Reddy (0) in the space of three balls, Starc then had Head (22) caught behind to have Hyderabad teetering at 4-37.
He then returned to mop up the tail, dismissing Wiaan Mulder and Harshal Patel to finish with 5-35.
It marked the sixth occasion Starc had claimed Head’s scalp.
“That’s probably why he doesn’t take the strike against me,” Starc said afterwards.
Hyderabad were all out for 163, and Delhi chased down the total with four overs to spare.
Victorian Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 38, while fellow opener Faf du Plessis (50) helped guide Delhi across the line comfortably.
