‘I’ve had a line of cocaine’: Wild piece of Aussie commentary stuns cricket

A commentator has gone viral after a truly shocking comment during a local Aussie cricket game left fans completely stunned.

"I've had a line" Cricket commentator confesses to working high

A cricket commentator has gone viral for all the wrong reasons after a rogue comment made during an Australian game was noticed by viewers.

This week a clip from a live stream of a Class A cricket match between Scarborough and Rockingham Mandurah District did the rounds on social media when eagle-eyed viewers picked up on an unusual piece of commentary.

With Scarborough batting and the score 0/84, the caller decided to give the bowling team some advice as they tried to make a breakthrough.

In a mixture of Australian, English and South African accents, he said: “Maybe even a bouncer, put square back, put fine leg back, make the batsman think twice about it, and even if you want to trap him on the front foot, I’d just like to see some more aggressive tactics from the fielding side here.”

After a long pause came the kicker.

“My mouth is very dry because I’ve had a line of cocaine,” the commentator said, completely deadpan. He didn’t elaborate further.

It’s safe to say social media had an absolute field day and fans couldn’t believe their ears when listening to the commentary from a local Aussie game.

Sport broadcaster Brett McKay said: “Wait, what?!?!” with a mind blown emoji.

Other cricket fans asked popular podcast The Grade Cricketer for “30mins minimum debrief on what’s occurred here”.

One viewer said: “Gotta be honest, not what I was expecting.”

A second commented: “Well this cricket commentary takes an interesting turn...”

Another quipped: “Not the right line… not sure about the length, either.”

A clearly diehard cricket fan joked: “What happens to the rest of the over. Sorry. It cut out.”

The surprising piece of commentary enters the annals of hilarious cricket commentary.

Earlier this month, Indian cricket legend Ravi Shastri stole the show with a classic one-liner as India tore through South Africa’s batting line-up in the shortest Test match ever.

“My goodness,” Shastri said during commentary for Willow.

“Yes, 153 for four, 153 all out.

“If someone went around the corner for a dump and has come back, India have been bowled out for 153.”
