Rohit Sharma opts for all-time AWFUL review

India Test captain Rohit Sharma has been blasted for his horrible use of the video review system (DRS) in the third Test in Indore, with the 35 year old making a series of horrible calls on the opening two days against Australia.

India wasted all three of their reviews when fielding for the first time after Sharma gambled repeatedly in an attempt to dismiss Australia – often trying his luck by reviewing decisions that appeared clearly not out.

But it was when Sharma was batting for the second time of the Test match that he made the worst howler of the lot.

The review was about as clear as it gets.

Nathan Lyon, who had already dismissed Sharma’s fellow opener Shubman Gill LBW, rapped the ball into Sharma’s pads as the batter attempted to turn the ball to the on side.

Umpire Joel Wilson took a long time to raise his finger and send Sharma on his way for 12, but the skipper bizarrely opted to review – only for the ball-tracking technology to show it was as plumb as can be, with the ball set to smash into the middle of middle stump.

Sharma’s decision to review the wicket – a fourth incorrect review in 24 hours – was roundly slammed by fans and pundits.
