Indian captain Virat Kohli was left fuming after a DRS controversy robbed his side of a crucial wicket during the third T20 against Australia on Tuesday evening.
In the 11th over of Australia’s innings at the SCG, opening batsman Matthew Wade was struck on the pad by Shardul Thakur, prompting a subdued appeal from the Indian fielders.

Kohli eventually called for the DRS, but third umpire Paul Wilson confirmed he could not conduct the review process because replays were being broadcast on the SCG’s big screens.
“We can’t go through this review anymore, there are replays on the big screen,” Wilson said. “It’s a null and void review.”
Kohli understandably voiced his frustration with the on-field umpires, but replays showed he only indicated for the review after gazing at the big screens.
Right decision made. Canât have the review after the replays are on the big screen. But was it up earlier than it should have been??? Or was it played only after 15 seconds had lapsed?? #Wade #Natarajan #AusvInd

The referral against Wade raises an interesting question. If the big screen shows the replay within the time allotted for the referral, can you disallow the referral? In this case we need to see the timer but the question is valid

Wade was heard on the stump mics exclaiming: “Referred it? It was on the big screen. They referred it off the big screen.”
In a cruel twist of fate, Hawkeye confirmed Wade would have been out if the DRS had gone ahead.
Soon after, big-hitting powerhouse Glenn Maxwell was granted an extra life after he was dismissed on a no-ball, adding to India’s woes.
Wade gets a lucky break LBW reviewed too late by India... and now Maxwell getting caught off a no-ball. This could hurt.

Oh boy!!! #AUSvsIND #T20
Wade was on 50 when the DRS incident occurred, and the left-hander went on to score 80 off 53 balls, his classy knock including seven boundaries and two sixes.
It was the 32-year-old’s second half-century of the series, having plundered 58 at the same venue on Sunday.
Fielding remains a concern for India’s squad, with several dropped catches and misfields guiding Australia towards 5/186 from their 20 overs.
Maxwell finished his entertaining knock on 54, bowled by paceman Thangarasu Natarajan in the penultimate over.
