A crowd of more than 50,000 has flooded into the venue, often referred to as the late spin bowler’s fortress throughout his illustrious 145-Test career.
A host of celebrity guests including Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, James Packer, Eric Bana, Greg Norman and Kelly Slater have spoken about the cricketing icon during the memorial.
Cricketing greats Allan Border, Mark Taylor, Merv Hughes, Nasser Hussain and Brian Lara have also shared their memories of Warne.
The world has continued to mourn Warne’s death after suffering a heart attack aged 52 in Thailand earlier this month, but the focus of his public memorial has been celebrating a life most could only dream of.
