Haddin’s incredible catch against the West Indies
WICKETKEEPER Brad Haddin has pulled off a miraculous catch but he may be a little shy talking about what happened next.
AUSTRALIAN wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has got a little closer to his fellow teammates than he may have liked during the Aussies day three dominance over the West Indies in the second test of the series in Jamaica.
Off the bowling of spinner Nathan Lyon, West Indies batsman Shai Hope got a thick outside edge that shot past Haddin’s gloves in what appeared to be a missed opportunity for Australia.
However Haddin showed his keeping ability knows no bounds, revealing the ball perched tightly in his crotch.
Upon realising the ball was stuck in his nether-region, short fieldsmen Steve Smith and Adam Voges showed no hesitation in lunging for the ball and plucking it from in between Haddin’s legs, securing the wicket.
Laughing it off with the rest of the team as Hope left the pitch, Haddin may not have been so pleased with Smith’s roaming hand.
Bowler Nathan Lyon found the whole ordeal rather amusing.
“I’m not sure what’s going on with those two. They seem quite friendly,” Lyon said.
“Lucky he kept his legs shut I guess. It was one of those things, you just take it whenever.”
