Glenn Maxwell’s unwanted record after IPL blunder
Glenn Maxwell has been dismissed for a golden duck, giving him an unwanted record in the Indian Premier League.
Glenn Maxwell has notched up an unwanted record in the IPL following a golden duck LBW – but replays showed it shouldn’t have been.
Maxwell didn’t trouble the scorers as he was trapped LBW first ball in his Punjab Kings’ 11-run win over the Gujarat Titans on Wednesday morning (Australian time).
The brash Aussie attempted to reverse sweep the first ball against Sai Kishore but missed, hitting him on the pads.
After the umpire raised his finger, Maxwell conferred with skipper Shreyas Iyer at the other end and walked back to the dugout.

“The Big Show” didn’t bother to review the decision despite his side having two reviews available at the time.
And replays showed that had he asked for a review he would have survived, with ball tracking showing the delivery was going over the stumps.
In the dugout, coach Ricky Ponting shook his head after watching a replay on the big screen.
It was Maxwell’s 19th duck in the IPL, giving him the record for most ducks in the history of the rich Indian competition.
It took him past Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma, who both have 18.
Maxwell did play a role for his side during Gujarat’s run chase, taking the wicket of Shubman Gill.
The Titans finished at 5-232 from their 20 overs, 11 runs short of their target of 244 as Ponting began his coaching career with a win.
