Cameron Green’s classy reaction to Alex Carey’s maiden Test century
Aussie Cameron Green has melted hearts of cricket fans everywhere with a classy act for a teammate during the Boxing Day Test.
Cameron Green has further endeared himself to Australian cricket fans with a heartwarming celebration of Alex Carey’s maiden century during the Second Test between Australia and South Africa.
On Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test, Carey brought up his first Test century and while he celebrated the milestone modestly, his batting partner at the other end couldn’t have been happier for him.

After Carey struck a ball through the covers to bring up his ton, Green immediately raised his arms with delight as he ran between the wickets.
The classy touch didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, who said it was proof Green is the ultimate team man.
“Just keep an eye on Cam Green here, everyone needs a Cam Green to play sport with,” commentator Mark Howard said on Fox Cricket.
“I thought that was a fantastic representation of what that young man is all about.
“It’s a real warm embrace. And I’m sure that moment (his maiden century) is not too far away for him either.
“Five wickets in the first innings and he batted beautifully today under duress.”
“Watch Cam Green here, he was pretty happy. Identifying the moments for your teammates and being thrilled to be a part of it,” Adam Gilchrist said.
“Arms aloft and then I reckon once confirmation the ball was dead, he comes down and says well done and then just backs right away from him (to let Carey have his moment).”
Cam Green was celebrating Carey's century with delight on the first run there and then hugged him like the overgrown labrador puppy that he is. Warm fuzzies all round. #AUSvSA

Love to see it. #AUSvSA
Former Australian spinner Kerry O’Keeffe said there was “nothing fake” about Green’s reaction.
“It’s one reason Cam Green is so popular within that side,” O’Keeffe said.
“He celebrated as hard as Carey did when it was his partner who got the hundred, that’s a tremendous reaction from the nonstriker.”
Carey said he was delighted to have shared the special moment with Green.
“It was really special and he was the guy I wanted out there at that stage. To see him throw his arms out, it meant a lot to me,” Carey said.
“We’ve formed a really good relationship on the field but also off the field so to have him out there was a really special moment.
“We’ve spoken a lot about it and we love batting together so hopefully a few more partnerships like that.”
Carey joined Rod Marsh as just the second wicketkeeper to score a century at the MCG in Test history.
His maiden ton was also the first by an Australian wicketkeeper since Brad Haddin scored a century in the Ashes in 2013.
Despite nursing a fractured finger, Green came out to bat on day three and was an excellent foil to Carey, finishing 51 not out off 177 balls.
The 23-year-old all-rounder will miss the final Test of the series at the SCG after he copped a brutal delivery from South Africa’s Anrich Nortje to his hand.
Last week Green was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for A$3.15 million in the Indian Premier League auction.
