Brisbane Heat’s BBL finals hopes take huge hit as Coffs Harbour clash with Sydney Sixers washed out
Defending BBL champions Brisbane Heat face a huge task to reach the finals after their heavyweight clash with Sydney Sixers was washed out in Coffs Harbour.
Rain has ruined the heavyweight showdown between the Sixers and Heat in Coffs Harbour with the grand final rematch washed out without a ball being bowled in a big blow to the defending champions’ hopes of making the finals.
The Heat are now on five points with four matches to go and would need to win three of those to give themselves a strong chance of finishing in the top four, having lost to the Sixers last week.

It’s a different story for the Sixers who remain on top of the table, with locals in Coffs Harbour missing out on the chance to see two of the best teams in the BBL after rain also affected last year’s clash between the sides.
There were hopes that the covers would come off at one stage, but persistent rain only got heavier as the game was officially called off an hour after play was scheduled to begin.
Brisbane will be in action on Monday against the Thunder, while the Sixers will face the Stars next Thursday.
