Indian villain cops ‘wanker’ chant, war of words erupts over send-off ‘lie’

Australia have levelled the Test series against India, but all the attention is on an Indian bowler who has hit back at Aussie Travis Head.

Mohammed Siraj gives Travis Head a fiery send off

Australia have defeated India by 10 wickets in the second Test at Adelaide Oval to level the five-Test series 1-1.

The Aussies were under the pump after copping a demolition from India in the series opener in Perth, but they bounced back with a dominant victory with the pink ball.

Australia bowled India out quickly on Sunday, with captain Pat Cummins picking up a five-wicket haul and Mitchell Starc finishing with nine wickets for the match.

The dominant win continues Australia’s unbeaten record in day-night Test matches in Adelaide, and also sees Australia jump on top of the World Test Championship standings, just ahead of South Africa and India.

Travis Head was named player of the match for his score of 140, but all the talk has been around the send-off he copped from Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj on Day 2.

There is a conflicting account of events but Siraj isn’t happy with how Head chirped back at him after his fiery words and gesture to get off the field.

It’s just the spice the series needs heading into the third Test at the Gabba starting on Friday.
