‘Absolutely plumb’: Cricket erupts over ‘worst review in BBL history’
The Sydney Thunder’s Daniel Sams might want his time again as cricket fans roasted the BBL star for the worst DRS review ever.
Even Shane Watson would be disappointed with that.
There were bizarre scenes in Monday’s Big Bash League game between the Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes when Thunder talisman Daniel Sams made one of the worst reviews of all time.

In an extremely unique over, Sams was dismissed three times before he finally made his way back to the pavilion.
Firstly, Sams flicked a delivery from Nathan Ellis straight to mid-wicket, but replays showed the Hurricanes captain had overstepped with a no-ball.
That meant the following ball was a free hit and Sams sliced it straight down the throat of the fielder on the off side, but the dismissal didn’t count.
Later in the over it was a case of third time lucky for Ellis when he trapped Sams LBW with a searing yorker that hit him low on the pads.
Anyone could see it was out plumb for all money, but Sams decided to review the decision — given the Thunder were 6/92 after 14 overs at the time.
The all-rounder was resigned to his fate as DRS showed the ball was indeed cannoning into the bottom of middle stump.
Mark Waugh said on in commentary Fox Cricket.: “I tell you what he’s standing there again, it’s going upstairs.
“That’s plumb isn’t it, absolutely plumb. I tell you what that is a beautiful delivery. That is an absolute gun yorker by Nathan Ellis.”

Brad Haddin said: “He’s been out three times in three balls.”
Brendon Julian said: “Third time lucky there for Nathan Ellis.”
Sams has been one of the Thunder’s best in BBL|13, claiming a rare five-wicket haul last week. But there hasn’t been too much to cheer about for the team in lime green.
The Thunder have now slumped to the bottom of the BBL table after going down to the Hurricanes by seven wickets as a result of another poor effort with the bat.
A brand new calendar may have worked wonders for the Hurricanes who headed into the New Year’s clash in last spot having won just one of their opening four matches.
But a terrific bowling performance restricted the visitors to 8/150 with Chris Jordan (2-20) one of three bowlers to pick up two wickets on a pitch that looked pretty good to bat on.
The hosts never looked in trouble, with Ben McDermott (53 not out off 34) and Mac Wright (34 off 25) adding 85 for the third wicket to help the Hurricanes get home with 11 balls to spare.
The only concern for the hosts is a back injury to veteran wicketkeeper Matthew Wade who looked in discomfort throughout his stay at the crease.
“He’s clearly had a back (injury) and missed a game in Perth a week or so ago,” Hurricanes coach Jeff Vaughan told Fox Cricket.
“It’s only flared up during the game. There was no feedback at the innings break so something has happened while he was batting.”
