SuperCoach 2015: all the scores from Fremantle v Melbourne as Lachie Neale top scores
FREMANTLE claimed a scrappy NAB Challenge win over Melbourne but completely dominated the Demons on the SuperCoach scoreboard.
IF ROSS Lyon paid any attention to SuperCoach he’d be pretty happy after Fremantle’s NAB Challenge win over Melbourne.
Missing Aaron Sandilands and Nat Fyfe, the Dockers boasted 10 of the top 15 scorers on Thursday night.
Lachie Neale was everywhere in the midfield and top scored with 127.
Clancee Pearce (available at $278,900) announced himself as a genuine low-end mid-price defender with 19 touches and 118 points.
Michael Taberner (111) kicked three goals and Michael Johnson (116) roamed free across half-back.
Former Magpies Heritier Lumumba was Melbourne’s top scorer with 109 just in front of Dom Tyson with 106.
Outside of the top guns all eyes were on Jesse Hogan.
Melbourne’s highly-touted key forward kicked one goal and took six marks for 65 points.
Fellow Demons and SuperCoach cheapies Ben Newton (55) and Aaron Vandenberg (62) also put their hands up for Round 1 debut.
Fremantle’s electric forward Michael Walters could become a breakout SuperCoach star this season and started well with 87.
However, the news wasn’t as good for Paul Duffield who left the field in severe pain after injuring his shoulder in the last quarter and David Mundy who finished the game with an ice pack on his ankle.
