‘You are f***ed’: Joe Rogan baffled by Jake Paul’s decision to box Anthony Joshua

Popular podcaster Joe Rogan has been left in disbelief by Jake Paul’s latest move, declaring the influencer is ‘f*****’.

The announcement that Jake Paul will face Anthony Joshua next month in Miami has sent shockwaves through the boxing world — and the reaction has been deafening.

Critics, analysts, former champs and fans alike are struggling to reconcile the spectacle with the sport, with reactions ranging from disbelief to outright concern.

Paul’s cancelled bout with Gervonta Davis left both the fighter and Netflix racing to find a replacement in early November. In a move that stunned just about everyone, the solution came in the form of Anthony Joshua.

Paul is now set to face AJ at Miami’s Kaseya Center on December 19, with ‘The Problem Child’ taking on the biggest challenge of his career against the towering two-time former unified heavyweight champion.

UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan was shocked by the match-up.

“Realistically, it’s one of the craziest propositions of all time,” he said on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

“You take a guy who just had a boxing match that looked like a sparring match with a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, and then you’re gonna fight one of the absolute scariest knockout artists in the heavyweight division?”

Even in disbelief, Rogan admitted he’ll be tuning in, calling Joshua “one of the scariest f**king heavyweights alive”.

“He’s [Joshua] gonna be terrifying, and he’s gonna have a lot to prove,” Rogan added.

“He’s gonna be very angry that Jake Paul wants to fight him, very upset that this YouTuber who’s fought Tommy Fury, who’s a legit boxer, and a couple of other guys who are legit boxers [wants to fight him].”

“That right hand, if it hits you, you are f***ed.

“This is a giant Olympic gold medallist heavyweight. I mean, Anthony Joshua is f**king terrifying. He’s got that one punch nuclear power, one punch, and he’s fast.”

Rogan went on to call the heavyweight as a “specialist at putting knuckles through your f***ing brain.”

‘And that’s what he’s gonna try to do to Jake Paul,’ he said.

Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi joked that Paul’s only chance of beating Joshua is with “a gun”.

“How would he have done it? Jake Paul win? A gun. A gun, I mean I can’t think of anything like the only thing that’s preventing me from betting everything I own on Anthony Joshua is the fact that I think this is so ridiculous that I’m missing something,” he told Seconds Out.

“I think there’s gotta be something I’m missing that then the laugh will be on me.”

Despite the wave of concern surrounding the matchup, Paul insists he has the power to knock Joshua out. But his confidence isn’t universally shared.

When Paul asked his mum if she was scared about the upcoming fight, her response was clear. “No … I’m terrified,” she told her son in a clip shared online.

Her first reaction to news of the bout was just as dramatic. “No. Oh no, are you crazy?” she exclaimed.

Paul received a more positive reaction when he called his father with the announcement.

“The heavyweight? No way dude. Are you for real?,” he said.

“What’s the world gonna say when you knock his a** out? Because it’s gonna happen.”

Respected trainer Abel Sanchez has shared his view on the bout, suggesting that Paul may have placed himself in serious danger — payday or not.

“I think this time he’s taken a little bigger step than he should have,” Sanchez said.

“AJ is not only an Olympian but he’s a world champion, has fought the best and Jake got beat by [Tommy] Fury, so he’s not that good a fighter against the real fighters so I see him getting hurt.

“I’m not going to say he’s going to get hurt but he’s going to get hit and he’s going to get hit like he’s never been hit before. He may get knocked out because he’s a good boxer, for his level, Anthony’s on a different, different level.”

Tyson Fury’s father, John, never one to mince words, predicted that Joshua will make quick and brutal work of Paul. And if he doesn’t, fans will smell a rat.

“I wish Anthony all the best of luck. But Anthony, listen to me, don’t take a dive with this Jake Paul mate. Do not do that, not for a billion dollars, my pal,” he said when interviewed in July.

“ … Anthony Joshua could knock Jake Paul out with his d**k, so if it goes any other way you know it’s f**king fixed. Enough said.”

All eyes will be on Miami on December 19, as the fight nobody expected becomes the fight everyone will be watching.
