Aussie Tim Tszyu’s career hangs by a thread after he was “obliterated” in scenes that have rocked the boxing world.

Tim Tszyu has been left in a dark place after a sensational beating at the hands of Bakhram Murtazaliev on Sunday.

The Australian suffered a third round knockout loss with his team forced to throw in the towel to stop the fight after watching him get knocked down four times.

The devastating result leaves Tszyu’s career hanging by a thread with no clear path back to a world title fight.

The small crowd at the Caribe Royale resort in Florida — and boxing commentators around the world — were in shock.

The 29-year-old had been looking to bounce back from a brutal loss to Sebastian Fundora in March.

However, it was clear the demons from that fight were still in Tszyu’s head with the 29-year-old grabbing at his forehead when he took an early shot in the fist round. Tszyu had an ugly cut that opened up on his forehead in the fight against Fundora.

The Australian was dropped three times in the second round, but showed bravery in continuing to come forward.

However, his punishment continued in the third round and his corner team was forced to stop the contest.

Main Event commentator Ben Damon called it the “obliteration in Orlando”.

It was a bad day for Australia with Mateo Tapia also unable to get a win in his earlier fight.

There had been reports Tszyu was planning on fighting former super welterweight king Jermell Charlo for his next fight, but with no belt to his name, those dreams are shattered.

After defending his IBF super welterweight title, Murtazaliev can now chase the biggest names in boxing.
