Tim Tszyu has vowed there will be no fairytale ending when he takes on Stevie Spark on Wednesday night.

Tszyu, who tipped the scales at 69.34kg, appeared ready for the Newcastle battle as he puts his reputation and perfect record (18-0, 14 KOs) on the line.

Despite his opponent’s Rocky-esque storyline leading up to the bout, Tszyu quashed all talk of a Hollywood finish.

“Tomorrow (Wednesday) night it (the underdog narrative of Spark) ends,” Tszyu said.

“You can act like one thing on TV and you can act like something else in person.

“The way he acts on TV is now how he is out there.

When quizzed about how the fight will finish, the son of Australian boxing legend Kostya Tszyu offered a prophetic vision, having finished his previous four fights inside the distance.

“Only one way,” Tszyu said.

“Everyone knows it. I know it, and even he knows it.”

Tszyu was set to fight Michael Zerafa, however the latter withdrew just a week before the scrap over concerns regarding the Covid situation in NSW.

Spark, 24, gleefully accepted the fight on such short notice, and stands to make $100,000 for his troubles.

Spark (12-1), who is looking to cause one of the biggest upsets in Australian boxing history, said he was in perfect shape for his moment in the limelight.

“I’m feeling great,” Spark said.

“The time for talk is over. I’m coming for war, I’m coming to take Tim Tszyu out.”

Spark, who weighed in at 69.66kg, is prepared to do whatever it takes to have his hand raised at the end of the night.

“I’m just going to go out there and do everyone proud and win at all costs,” Spark said.

“I’m winning this fight.”
