‘Pop his virginity’: Nikita Tszyu vows to hurt rival desperate to ‘get one back on the family’

Nikita Tszyu has vowed to pop the boxing “virginity” of his latest opponent in a bizarre face off where the trash talk got seriously weird.

Nikita Tszyu has vowed to take Jack Brubaker’s boxing “virginity” when he fights the veteran in his toughest test yet later this month.

The younger Tszyu brother will fight Brubaker on August 23 and is promising to continue his family legacy after Tim Tszyu beat Brubaker four years ago via TKO.

Brubaker (17-2, 4KOs) is known for having one of the hardest chins in Australian boxing and called out Nikita (6-0, 5KOs) following his comeback win over Troy O’Meley last month after two years out of the ring.

Nikita has been on a tear since making his professional boxing debut last year, racking up six victories in little over 12 months.

But he’s barely been tested, demolishing opponent after opponent with knockouts in the early rounds.

Brubaker, 31, prides himself on going the distance and wants to get revenge on the Tszyu family by beating Tim’s younger brother and stopping his path to stardom in its tracks.

“I believe I can beat Nikita,” told Fox Sports as the pair faced off before Isaac Hardman’s bloody win.

“I’d love to get one back on the family. I lost to Tim back in 2019. Nikita’s come through knocking everyone out and I’m well known to have the granite chin and I want to put that to the test. I know if I show up, he’s beatable.”

Nikita is a quirky character and showed off his unusual brand of smack talk, vowing to hurt Brubaker like he’s never been hurt before.

“He’s tough. He comes to fight and he’s not someone who’s ever been really hurt,” the 25-year-old said.

“My aim is to be the first. I want to pop his virginity in making him quit.

“Tim finished him in four rounds. The goal is to beat him before that.

“It’s going to elevate my career and bring a lot of experience and fun to it. Jack’s a character.”

Main Event’s Ben Damon said: “That’s a pretty cold thing to say, that he’s going to stop you faster than his brother did.”

Brubaker said: “I say good luck with that. No one’s hurt me in the ring and I doubt you’ll be the first.

“He wants to be the first to hurt me, I’ll be the first to beat him. Nikita Tszyu, I’m coming for you.”

Quizzed on Nikita’s unusual approach to trash talk ahead of a fight, Brubaker said: “I think he might be a master manipulator.

“I’ve been around the game a long time. I’ve seen everyone come and go. It doesn’t bother me.

“I know he wants to be friendly but he’s going to try knock my head off come fight night.”

The fight will be held at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, where Nikita was given a huge scare when he went the distance with another famous boxing brother, Ben Horn, and just managed a decision win.

No Limit promoter George Rose said it’s crucial the talented youngster gets tough rounds under his belt before he’s 15-0 and fighting world class opponents.

“We laugh because we keep saying we want opponents who are going to give Nikita rounds,” Rose told news.com.au.

“His last fight against Ben Bomber, we thought he’d get some really good tough solid rounds against another young bull with a similar record to Nikita.

“It’s not happening, he just keeps ending it so quick. The plan we set for Nikita gets changed because of his talent, his power.

“For Nikita, when he’s finishing fights that quick it makes it pretty easy for him to turn around and fight again soon after. He will be at 15-0 before we know it.

A person with his record, he should be fighting guys with low records and not guys with 30-odd fights under their belt like these fellas are.

“He’s really up there with the best super welterweights in the country and Jack is a perfect measuring stick for where Nikita’s at for this next stage.

“We need someone who can push him to bigger rounds and really build his tank so he’s capable of going the 10-rounders that are required to fight for belts.

“What do you do? Do you complain about a guy finishing a fight early or do you enjoy the ride and enjoy what’s next.”
