Kiwi kickboxer’s hilarious reaction to KO goes viral
THIS kickboxer was knocked into next week. What he did next left a commentator struggling to speak because he was laughing so hard.
SOMETIMES it’s best just to stay down.
This Kiwi kickboxer should have given his brain a little more time to recover after being knocked out in the first minute of this fight, which was recently screened on New Zealand television.
After being backed into the corner, the fighter’s knees are buckled by a powerful shot.
“Right hand, and it’s all over before it begins,” the commentator says. “This one is over.”
The fighter attempts to beat the count and make it back to his feet, but his body isn’t ready to co-operate and quickly resumes a prone position on the canvas.
“He’s going to make the count. No, he’s not going to make the count,” the commentator says.
After the fight is waved off, the fighter then attempts to claim victory as the referee removes his mouthguard.
“It’s all over, son. He says, ‘I’m not sure of that,’ and does his best Rocky impression over there in the corner,” the commentator says. “(The referee) says, ‘You’ll have to wait for another day, mate.’”
But it gets even better. Having realised he’s lost, the fighter looks to make a swift exit, which doesn’t go according to plan.
The whole debacle leaves the commentator in stitches.
“We shouldn’t be laughing (continues laughing) ... “When you thought he was dead and buried, he said, ‘No, I’ve got some more life in me.’”
