YouTube star Jake Paul was furious after a controversial split decision from the judging panel took the shine off his victory over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley on Monday.

In a rollercoaster fight, Paul was pushed to go the distance for the first time, entering uncharted territory as he extended his undefeated professional record to 4-0.

The fight took a dramatic turn at the end of the fourth round when Woodley rocked the 24-year-old with a powerful hook that stunned Paul and almost knocked him to the floor. It was a turning point in the eyes of some commentators, despite the majority continuing to score the next few rounds for Paul.

Judge Bill Rogers, however, was among the few that believed Woodley was the better fighter from that point on and awarded the final five rounds to Woodley.

Paul wrestled back control of the fight with his left hand jab proving too quick for Woodley’s guard.

Woodley made a desperate late comeback to dominate the final round, but Paul clearly deserved the win on the back of being more active and landing more punches.

Paul was officially awarded the victory via a split decision 77-75, 75-77, 78-74.

According to ESPN Stats, Paul landed 71 punches, including 35 power shots. Woodley landed 52 total punches, including 41 power shots.

Woodley said after the fight he believed he had won.

However, it was Paul who was more angry, calling out judge Rogers over his decision to award the fight to his 39-year-old opponent.

“That’s bulls***,” Paul said.

“It was tougher fight than I expected. My legs felt weird since the locker room. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

“This is a dream come true. I want to cry, but I’m a little tired.

“I didn’t fight my best tonight. I give myself a C-minus.”

Woodley called Paul out in his post-fight interview inside the ring — triggering tempers to boil over as Woodley called Paul a coward for knocking back an opportunity for a re-match.

The result is likely to be Woodley’s last fight.

“I felt like I won the fight,” he said.

“Jake’s a great opponent … I knew he could take a punch. But the fact that one judge gave me two rounds is laughable.

“F*** the Fury fight (referring to Paul’s next expected opponent Tommy Fury). We need to run that back.

“I want a rematch.”

Paul responded to Woodley’s call out by saying he would only agree to a re-match if Woodley had the phrase “I love Jake Paul” written on his leg.

Woodley said he would be prepared to get the tattoo done in order to get another shot at Paul before he turned and walked out the ring.

You can see how all the drama unfolded in our live updates below.

Paul vs Woodley round by round updates

Round 1 — Jake Paul is pushed onto the ropes at the start of the round but quickly takes control. A left hand jab from Paul is the best shot landed. Woodley continues to dance without throwing punches and finishes the round with just six punches thrown. Paul lands six of the 21 punches he throws.

Round 2 — Jake Paul is going into a third round for the first time in his career. He had previously won all three of his professional fights via stoppages inside the first two rounds. Paul won the second round and landed a nice combination of a shot to the body and a hook to Woodley’s head.

Round 3 — Woodley has his best round of the fight so far, but the round still belongs to Paul. Woodley landed his first power punch with an overhand left, but Paul is the more active boxer and appeared to land a heavy right hand uppercut. Woodley lands a very late right hand jab, which could have almost been after the bell — his best punch of the fight.

Round 4 — Tyron Woodley wins his first round of the fight after landing a powerful left hook and an overhand right. It is the first round Paul has lost in his professional career. Woodley’s hook rocks Paul and almost knocks him to the floor. Paul stumbles backwards and needs the ropes to hold him up. The punch is not awarded as a knockdown.

Round 5 — Woodley continues to surprise Paul and repeatedly marches his opponent down. He also started to land some nice jabs and body shots, but Paul also continued to land plenty of jabs. Woodley’s comeback creates huge energy from inside the stadium. It is the closest round of the fight.

Round 6 — Jake Paul grabs control of the fight again. His flurry of jabs is enough to win him the round while Woodley continues to hold his punches. Paul likely leads 59-55.

Round 7 — Paul has the fight on his terms in another uneventful round. Woodley needs a KO to win the fight in Round 8. The fight is likely being scored 69-64.

Round 8 — Jake Paul’s left hand jab continues to be the story of the fight. Woodley came out at the start of the round throwing wild punches, but Paul does enough to hold on comfortably. Woodley may have won the final round, but the fight clearly belongs to Paul.

Jake Paul tries to steal microphone to reveal bizarre shorts

Jake Paul has spoken for the final time before he makes his walk to the ring in an interview where he tried to steal a reported microphone on live TV.

The YouTube star attempted to show off his trunks — which were earlier revealed by his brother to include LED screens.

The screens placed around his waist showed Jake Paul’s name rotate around his body with flashing letters.

At the end of the conversation from inside his dressing room Paul asked the TV presenter: “Have you ever seen shorts like this?”

The reporter responded by refusing to let go of the mic.

“I can’t let you grab hold of my mic,” she said.

“I love you, but I can’t let you grab my mic.”

Amanda Serrano defends belts in thrilling finish

Amanda Serrano has pulled off her 27th consecutive victory to retain her unified featherweight world title belts.

Serrano had to endure a late swinging flurry from Yamileth Mercado, who showed incredible toughness to survive the full 10 rounds.

The judges handed Serrano a unanimous victory with 98 92, 97-93, 99-91 scorecards.

Daniel Dubois “detonates” star in crazy TKO

Heavyweight rising star Daniel Dubois has destroyed Joe Cusumano in a dominant first round knockout victory that puts him on the path for an eventual title shot.

The UK fighter knocked Cusumano down three times in the first round in an explosive debut fight in the United States.

It was the deadly right hand uppercut that first rocked Cusumano before a left jab and overhand right also put Cusumano on the floor.

The referee stopped the contest as soon as Cusumano toppled over for a third time.

Love wins completely insane firefight

After a dull start to the undercard, Ivan Baranchyk and Montana Love turned the heat way up with a wild fight.

Love won via a seventh round TKO when Baranchyk’s corner threw the towel in.

It came after Love landed a heavy left-hand counter punch right on Baranchyk’s chin.

Both fighters landed heavy shots in the opening rounds, including a left hand counter from Baranchyk that snapped Love’s head back in brutal fashion at the end of the fifth round.

The see-sawing contest went into the seventh round with the round by round scores almost impossible to predict, but Love made sure it didn’t go the distance with his seventh-round uppercut.

Paul brother reveals Jake Paul’s shorts experiment

Logan Paul says he may have ruined a surprise by revealing Jake Paul will wear an LCD screen on his shorts when he steps into the ring to fight Tyron Woodley.

Logan Paul said on the Showtime broadcast his brother’s decision to wear a screen on his shorts was “calculated”.

Jake Paul had earlier revealed he will also be wearing special gloves for the fight which will include the logo of his team’s NFL franchise, the Cleveland Browns.

Tommy Fury “blows” huge payday with Paul

Tommy Fury has scored a less-than impressive win over Anthony Taylor on the undercard.

The brother of Tyson Fury was attempting to line himself up as a potential opponent for Jake Paul in the future.

However, his failure to score a stoppage win over Taylor has seen him drop down the pecking order, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.

ESPN boxing guru Dan Rafael also torched the fight on Twitter.

Fury won the fight with a 40-36 x3 judges scorecard with all three judges scoring all four rounds for Fury.

Despite his performance, Fury said Paul has no excuse not to fight him next after the Tyron Woodley showdown.

Brutal TKO to start Paul-Woodley card

Charles Conwell has destroyed Juan Carlos Rubio with a boxing clinic that was stopped by the referee in the third round.

The referee was forced to call an end to the fight when Rubio was unable to defend himself and was taking repeated heavy shots.

Conwell was officially handed a victory via TKO at the 2:49 mark of the third round.

How did we get here?

At the official weigh-in, Paul attempted to provoke his opponent in several ways, including trying to steal his hat.

Woodley, a five-time UFC champion, called out Paul in April and wanted to fight under MMA regulations, but the two Americans will go at it in the boxing ring instead.

Paul is undefeated from his three boxing fights, after defeating YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA player Nate Robinson and former MMA fighter Ben Askren.

The 24-year-old goes into this fight as the slight favourite, but he is yet to come up against an opponent with the striking skills of Woodley, which have been honed during his time in MMA.

Woodley, who has a UFC record of 19-7-1, isn’t in great form having lost his past four UFC fights.

It will be fascinating to see how he matches up in the ring against Paul, who has been working hard on his boxing craft.

The man known as the “Problem Child” is expected to face the toughest test of his fledgling boxing career against Woodley.

However, Paul has much to gain, since he is set to receive a monster payday worth millions from the fight.

Here’s everything you need to know about the fight.
