Dallas Buyers Club producer Rachel Winter and husband Terence are set to produce the film along with James and his manager Maverick Carter, according to Variety.

The untitled project will be based on James’ high school days, where his extraordinary talents at saw him become a national phenomenon at a young age.
James’ early years were chronicled in the 2009 documentary More Than A Game, which followed his and his four teammates as they take an unknown team from Ohio to the top.
It also tracks James’ incredible rise to fame.
The movie project stalled in development but Rachel Winter approached James and Carter two years ago to revive it.
An aggressive bidding war has seen several studios vying for the film, according to the report.
Universal is shaping as a good fit, given the studio and Imagine Entertainment are developing the basketball comedy “Ballers” in which James is expected to star alongside actor and comedian Kevin Hart.
