He may be the son of the greatest NBA player of all time, but Bronny James is attracting heavy backlash after another poor display.

You never want to overreact after only a handful of games, but the early signs for Bronny James aren’t exactly confidence fillers.

The son of arguably the greatest NBA player of all time was always going to face an uphill battle to win over fans of the game, he’s so far failed to move the needle.

Through four games in the NBA’s Summer League action, the 55th pick in the draft has scored a total of 17 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, dished out 6 assists while having 7 turnovers.

While he was never going to set the world on fire with his offensive displays, the horror shooting he’s so far displayed has raised major red flags.

Bronny’s 17 points have come off of 31 shots from the floor with a 22.6 per cent shooting stroke.

The most alarming aspect however is his three point shooting which after four games is a staggering zero per cent.

And it’s not because he’s done a Ben Simmons and refuses to attempt a three-point shot, Bronny has in fact put up 15 shots from beyond the arc and failed to make one.

Bronny James' horror shooting streak reaching worrying heights

Unfortunately for Los Angeles fans, Bronny is failing to have an impact on either end of the floor with his latest horror showing coming as the Lakers fell 88-74 against the Boston Celtics.

Watching on from courtside was Celtics superstar and recent NBA Finals MVP who was caught appearing to say “I don’t think Bronny’s a pro” before shaking his head.

The footage of Brown talking to Kysre Gondrezick & Angel Reese quickly went viral with fans all believing those were the words uttered by the Celtics player.

Criticism has come in thick and fast for the 19-year-old with fans questioning his place in the league.

One user wrote on X: “Compared to the average person he’s really good, but among NBA or even G league talent he’s just simply out classed … it is what it is.”

A second wrote: “Bronny no where near NBA level bro im sorry.”

A third added: “I’ve watched 5 hours of summer league tonight. Bronny James is the worst player I’ve seen touch the court.”

Not everyone however was critical of his recent displays with veteran broadcaster Skip Bayless holding out hope he would turn his form around.

“Bronny just had an open corner 3. Shot it with conviction. Hit nothing but net - barely ticked the bottom of the net … air ball. Now 0-14 from 3 in Summer League. Didn’t score in tonight’s 1st half. Pulling for him. Sweating for him. He will snap out of this slump,” he wrote.

Ball Don’t Stop wrote: “I feel bad for Bronny James right now.‍️ He was rushed to this stage and is playing with a lot of nerves and pressure. He has pro tools, but he needed another year or two of college to tap into them.”

While things on the court might not be going his way, away from it Bronny is proving why he might be the best NBA player in a different area.

The young guard showed how good he is in the virtual world by dominating a Call of Duty Summer League tournament.

Bronny defeated Grant Williams in the final of the tournament to win $10,000 and the Call of Duty championship belt.

The Lakers will return to the court on Thursday when they go up against the Atlanta Hawks at 11:30am (AEST).
