AUSSIES IN ACTION

Andrew Bogut found himself in a few heated duals with Brooklyn big men Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez - and the Australian centre came out the winner.

Bogut contributed 11 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and a steal in 31 minutes of court-time as Golden State to surged to a 107-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

No other Australians were activated today.

MAVERICKS 123, 76ERS 70

Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points while playing only 20 minutes as the Dallas Mavericks had their largest victory in history — a 123-70 win over the winless Philadelphia 76ers.

The 53-point margin for Dallas surpassed its 50-point win over the New York Knicks in January 2010.

At 0-8, Philadelphia is the only NBA team without a victory. The only time the 76ers have gone deeper into a season before winning a game was 1972-73, when they lost their first 15 games.

The 76ers, who scored the last five points to avoid their largest loss ever, matched Utah’s 0-8 start from a year ago. The last NBA team with a longer losing streak to begin a season was the New Jersey Nets during their record 0-19 start in 2009-10.

BULLS 100, RAPTORS 93

A new injury forced human casualty ward Derrick Rose out of Chicago’s seven-point NBA win over the Toronto Raptors.

Pau Gasol had a season-high 27 points and 11 rebounds and Rose scored 20 points before leaving with a sore left hamstring as the Bulls won 100-93.

Jimmy Butler scored 21 and Mike Dunleavy had 14 as the Bulls won for the sixth time in seven games and snapped Toronto’s five-game winning streak in the matchup of teams with the best records in the Eastern Conference. Both teams are now 7-2.

Rose stumbled on a drive to the basket late in the fourth and was replaced by Dunleavy with 1:53 left, taking a seat at the end of the bench. It comes just a week after Rose had already sat out games this season with injured and swollen ankles.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee scores the game-winning basket against the Sacramento Kings with less than one second remaining.

GRIZZLIES 111, KINGS 110

Courtney Lee’s controversial basket on the final buzzer gave the Memphis Grizzlies a 111-110 victory over Sacramento and the NBA’s best record with an eighth win in nine games.

Lee soared into the air to catch an inbounds pass from Vince Carter and fired a off-balance reverse shot through the hoop as time expired.

Television replays appeared to show Sacramento’s Ryan Hollins getting a hand on the pass, which would have started the clock sooner than it did and wiped out the final 0.3 seconds before Lee could launch his dramatic desperation winner.

Referees reviewed the replay for several minutes before deciding that the basket counted and the Grizzlies had won their 18th regular-season home game in a row, dating to last season.

Mike Conley scored 22 points and had 11 assists for Memphis, which had 16 points in all from Lee.

The Grizzlies overcame a 24-point third-quarter deficit and trailed 103-86 before battling back over the final 7:30 to win.

Spaniard Marc Gasol added 20 points while Carter sank three three-pointers in the 23-5 Memphis rally that put them back in the game late.

Rudy Gay scored 25 points and DeMarcus Cousins netted 22 along with 12 rebounds to lead the Kings in a losing cause. Darren Collison added 20 points but Sacramento suffered an eighth consecutive loss in meetings with Memphis.

WARRIORS 107, NETS 99

Klay Thompson scored 25 points, Draymond Green had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and Golden State snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Brooklyn.

Stephen Curry added 17 points and five assists as the hot-shooting, turnover-prone Warriors slowly started to cut down on mistakes. They shot 45.6 percent from the floor and had just 11 turnovers.

Golden State entered the game leading the NBA in shooting percentage and turnovers.

Jarrett Jack scored 23 points against his former team, and Brook Lopez and Deron Williams each had 18 points as Brooklyn lost for the second time in two nights. The Nets fell 112-104 at Phoenix on Wednesday to begin their three-game road trip.
