Liz Cambage jokes about raking in cash from racy online content

Liz Cambage has been a strong advocate for body positivity and she may have found her calling after finishing up on the basketball court

Liz Cambage isn’t just a one-trick pony.

The Australian basketball star joked she could be making way more money off the court than by continuing in professional sport if she took her career in a very different direction.

Talking to NBA trainer Chris Johnson on Instagram, the 29-year-old — who has previously posed topless for Playboy — chatted about the cash call of starting a similar project to subscription-site OnlyFans, which sees members pay to access racy content.

“The amount of money I could be making off OnlyFans is crazy,” she said. “What am I doing sitting here?

“It would need to be called something else though.

“If I was going to do something like that, like sell members only content, I’d build my own base. Why not?”

An ambassador for Rihanna’s lingerie label Savage x Fenty, Cambage isn’t shy about expressing herself. During the week she posted photos from a recent shoot with the brand on her Instagram account, with the caption: “He call me BIG PURRRRRRRR.”

Liz lets loose before WNBA season

Cambage was spotted having a wild time on a boat on the idyllic Caribbean island of St Barts in February, ahead of this year’s WNBA season, enjoying a champagne shower as one of her friends sprayed a bottle of bubbly all over her.

She looked like she’d perfected the art of twerking as she partied with high-profile pals including WWE legend Kelly Kelly, MMA sensation Valerie Loureda and Kim Kardashian’s personal trainer, Melissa Alcantara.

‘My body is powerful’: Cambage opens up on Playboy shoot

Late last year Cambage posed topless for Playboy, and opened up about her sexuality — something she was excited about being able to celebrate.

“I’ve never embraced my sexuality in public,” she said. “Me doing Playboy is me celebrating my sexuality like, ‘Yeah, I am a straight six-foot-eight (203cm) woman who likes to have sex’. I’m a human; it’s what we do.

“As a female athlete, I feel like I’m not allowed to be sexy and I’m not allowed to be that person. All society wants from me is to sit down, shut up, go to training and play my sport.”

Cambage, who was drafted second overall by the Tulsa Shock in 2011 and now plays for the Las Vegas Aces in the US, added that “being a female and in sports” she “felt a lot of pressure” in regard to sexual identification.

“I’ve spent a lot of years confused. Am I straight? Am I bi? Is there something wrong with me that I’m not attracted to girls?” Cambage said.

“Everyone’s always expecting me to be gay. I’m like, ‘No, I love men’.

“I remember when I shaved half my head at 18 or 19 and my mum sat me down. She thought that was me coming out. I was like, ‘No, I just look good with a shaved head’.”

Cambage has long considered her body to be “powerful”, noting the feedback she received after posing in ESPN the Magazine’s annual Body Issue — where she stripped off all her clothes in front of the camera — was “very interesting”.

“People saw it as a very sexual thing, but to me, my body is powerful. We bring life into this world with our bodies yet we cover them up, when we’re such powerful beings,” Cambage said.

“I’m so proud of my skin. I’m so proud of my six-foot-eight body and everything I can do with it.

“Nudity has never really been a sexual thing to me. It’s always just been who I am and the skin I was in.”
