NBA veteran Kevin Garnett became just the 15th player to score 26,000 career points Saturday night during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ home tilt against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Garnett, who played 12 seasons in Minnesota before stops in Boston and Brooklyn, hit 26,000 on the nose with a jumper early in the third quarter that extended the Timberwolves’ lead to 63-46. The only other active players on the list are Tim Duncan (26,162), Dirk Nowitzki (28,450) and Kobe Bryant (32,784), with totals through Friday night’s action.

The 15-time All-Star is averaging just 2.9 points per game and 5.4 rebounds, but KG apparently has had an enormous impact on the young talent in Minnesota on and off the court.

Last month, KG also become just the fifth player in NBA history to play 50,000 career minutes.
