‘I’m trying to have sex with her’: Donald Sterling’s excuse for racist rant

Disgraced Clippers owner Donald Sterling claims he wasn’t in his right mind when he spouted bigoted blather to V. Stiviano because he was focused on luring her into the sack.

In a recording obtained by Radar Online, the leathery Lothario tells a pal that he was blinded by lust during his infamous chat with Stiviano.

“I’m talking to a girl. I’m trying to have sex with her,” Sterling said. “I’m trying to play with her. If you were trying to have sex with a girl and you’re talking to her privately and you don’t think anybody’s there, you may say anything in the world.

“Then, if the girl tapes it and releases it, my God it’s awful,” he said. “Who thinks anybody’s gonna tape something?”

Seething NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling from all league-related activity this month after his racist rants came to light and said he will seek to force him to sell his share in the team.

“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people,” Sterling told Stiviano.

But the billionaire insists that he was simply jealous that his cooing assistant was interacting with other men and advertising it on her social media pages.

“The girl is black,” Sterling said on the new tape. “I like her. I’m jealous that she’s with other black guys. I want her. So what the hell. Can’t I in private tell her, ‘I don’t want you to be with anybody?’”

V. Stiviano tries to disguise herself after the scandal.

Stiviano has insisted she never slept with Sterling and that he showered her with expensive cars and a condo because of their profound friendship.

Sterling caught intense heat for singling out a picture she posted with NBA legend Magic Johnson.

But the real estate lord said he was just envious of the strapping Hall of Famer and was trying to convince his target that he could compete.

“The picture is not [the issue],” he said. “I wish Magic Johnson was talking to a girl and you trying to play with her, and you might say anything. You might say you have the biggest penis in the world. I would have said I could fly over a high-rise building if I had to.

“And you’re talking to her and then you go away,” he said. “And the next thing you know, three months later what you said when you were hot trying to get in her … is released.

“I didn’t want her to bring anybody to my games because I was jealous,” he said. “I mean, I’m being honest.”

Radar also reported that the NBA is investigating racism allegations against Sterling’s wife, Shelly Sterling.

The estranged spouse is part-owner of the Clippers and has expressed an interest in keeping her share of the team.
