REMEMBER when all anyone wanted to do was ‘Be Like Mike’? Gatorade have kindly reminded us of that time.

The sports energy drink is celebrating fifty years fuelling athletes with electrolytes by releasing a digitally remastered version of their iconic 1991 ad featuring Chicago Bulls legend, Michael Jordan.

It first aired just after Chicago won their first NBA title. Jordan would go on to help the Bulls win five more.

This kid probably didn’t know how lucky he was to be playing ball with Mike.

The nostalgic TV ad will be aired once again in 2015, during the NBA All-Star weekend.

It’s been a big weekend for Jordan too.

The All-Star event also marks the 30th anniversary of the Jordan brand.

Pop god Prince performed a morning concert to mark the historic occasion.

Prince performing early in New York for a crowd that included Michael Jordan, Chris Rock, Questlove and Queen Latifah, who danced and sang to his rousing set.

And if that’s not cool enough, some nerds hired by Nike’s Jordan brand also made an immersive game called ‘The Last Shot’, that replicates actual in-game scenarios MJ faced in his illustrious basketball career.

As reported on Wired.com, four LED walls surround a basketball net, then depending on what scenario you choose, the crowd and atmosphere from that key moment, including the parquet court design, appears on the LED walls and floor surrounding the people playing the game.

On the floor a line lights up to show you exactly where to go to recreate Jordan’s basketball skills, such as his jump shot against the Utah Jazz that helped the Bulls win their sixth NBA championship in 1998.

The impressive installation is exhibited across the road from Madison Square Garden during the All Star Weekend for all to try.

It’s a good weekend to be Michael Jordan.
